Description
The AVerMedia PW313 is a straightforward Full HD webcam for people who spend a lot of their week on video calls. It records at 1080p and 30 frames per second through a 2 megapixel CMOS sensor, which is a noticeable step up from the low resolution camera built into most laptops and monitors.
Setup takes seconds. The camera is UVC compliant, so Windows, macOS and Linux recognise it as soon as it is plugged into a USB 2.0 port. There are no drivers to chase down and no account to create, which matters when you are deploying cameras across a floor of desks rather than setting up one machine.
Two built in microphones handle audio, so a separate headset is optional rather than essential. The mount swivels a full 360 degrees and sits on a tripod thread, so it works on a monitor, a laptop lid or a stand. A physical privacy shutter covers the lens when the camera is not in use, which is often the first question a security conscious IT team asks.
Fixed focus is tuned for a working distance of roughly 40cm to 100cm, which covers a normal seated position at a desk. The 1.5 metre cable gives enough slack for most setups without an extension.
This model is NDAA and TAA compliant, which makes it eligible for many government and public sector purchases where consumer webcams are not.
